The extensive renovation of the Dunedin Town Hall and Municipal Chambers was done very sympathetically to preserve its integrity. Modern appliances (eg, lift shafts, state of the art lighting and air conditioning) were installed very discreetly to avoid obvious building alterations. Other parts of the building were updated to a very high standard with a contemporary look.
