This rural property of 300 acres is at the base of Mt. Warning in Northern NSW. The building site selected for the residence nestles the building in to the hill, while taking advantage of distant coastal views and expansive valley views to the north.
The building forms a courtyard around a "sky garden" that was a walled house garden set between an art studio, garage and the main building. The exterior space framed the vital connection between the suspended building and the landscape.
Robust materials were selected for the building fabric, which included colorbond wall sheeting, spotted gum cladding and stone walling quarried from the site during the creation of the access road.
