Burger King restaurants across New Zealand rely on Fenta™ Ceiling Tiles from Bates Surfaces to help maintain operations day in and day out.

With many restaurants operating 24/7, Burger King kitchens need ceilings that withstand ongoing exposure to lighting, HVAC operation and the heat and moisture generated in a commercial kitchen.

Specified for restaurants nationwide, Fenta’s UV-cured surface and fibre cement substrate provide the franchisees with long-term durability, balancing of performance, reliability and visual simplicity.

Durability built in with ultra-hard UV coating

Drawing from Bates Surfaces’ 70 years of expertise in surface coatings, Fenta was developed to provide commercial kitchens with a hard-wearing tile that is resistant to water, impact and scratches and designed to outlast most paint systems.

For Burger King New Zealand, the hardness of Fenta’s UV-cured coating means its kitchen ceilings can be relied on to meet the visual, operational and performance demands placed on them.

This durability ensures Fenta ceilings maintain their high-gloss finish over years of use, while the fibre cement board will not warp or crack, even when subjected to heat and moisture above both cooking and cleaning stations.

And with restaurant hygiene being critical, Fenta also comes to the party with a bio-silver additive in its UV topcoat. Tested to ISO 22196, it demonstrates up to 99.99% inhibition of bacterial growth on the surface under laboratory conditions. Because silver does not degrade, and lasts the life of the tile, only routine surface cleaning is needed to maintain its antibacterial performance.

Compliance and long-term performance for every location

Because fast food kitchens rarely stop operating, every element must support long-term operations. Ideally, the life of a kitchen surface should be measured in decades, not just years, as downtime for repairs and replacements costs time and money and can be especially challenging for a 24-hour restaurant.

By specifying Fenta Ceiling Tiles across its New Zealand restaurants, Burger King New Zealand ensures compliance with B2 Durability and G3 Food Preparation requirements in the New Zealand Building Code (NZBC), while bringing the operational performance and visual continuity necessary for one of the world’s most well-known restaurant brands.
