First Foot in the Door

It’s one thing to buy your first home, but to build your first home is another feat.

This classy little 90m2 build is Amanda and Robin’s first glimpse of the housing market, and I must say, they have entered with style.

3 bedrooms, a generous bathroom with separate toilet, high raking ceilings and a big feeling kitchen/dining living area make for the most luxurious 90m2 you could build. Once again, Kylie from Eljay Design is the brain behind this clever design and has made this young couple’s budget go a far as it could.

The only hitch on this whole build was Robin wanted a cupboard in the living room and Amanda didn’t…as you can see, we compromised. What was initially going to be a feature painted wall was quickly changed to grooved ply with negative detailing with a hidden door discreetly tucked into the corner. (the skirting height in the below photo is the giveaway) The finished product was something we were all very stoked with.

Uncompromised by floor area, the bathroom and W/C boast the same spacious feel as the living/dining, while having an over height sliding door between the master and the deck complete the seamless flow between inside and out.
