This light, airy kitchen was completed in a coastal new build using textures that give it a distinct Hampton’s feel. Vidaspace Reclaimed Limewashed Pruce panels were used on the splashback and island front to give the space real character and this complements the touches of timber perfectly. The feel as described by the client was to be "homely, subdued, matte, muted palette, with a Coastal Hampton feel".
Objective: To create a space that is timeless yet unique and one which opens up the room to the open plan area that surrounds. The design must compliment the sloping roof line and look out across the Raglan harbour.
Aesthetic Considerations: To create a "Coastal Hampton" feel by combining off whites, natural oak, and a light "aged" timber plank. Balance needs to be considered with the sloping roof line.
Practical Considerations: Storage is a must so plenty of large drawers. The tall cabinetry is to include a double oven but must also be a practical use of storage space as well as looking balanced. A breakfast bar is to be included for meals and entertaining.
