By Pocketspace Interiors
The scope of 50 Great South Road was a full internal demo and rebuild, giving a reinvigorated life to an iconic building in the automotive industry. Pocketspace was tasked to completely redesign the interior and exterior using the corporate identity of Nissan as the design basis. Space planning identified vehicle and sales desk capacity, while 3D rendering and video walk-throughs illustrated the customer activation experience. This provided the Nissan head office in Japan with visual communication to approve our design, along with a clear plan for trades to execute. With a full furniture and finish schedule, the interior featured soho sashed partitioning, suspended LED Halo’s, two kitchens, bathrooms, and staff workspaces on ground and level one. The exterior required ACM replacement, signage, lighting, and new external joinery with feature custom Nissan red handles. The program took one year to design and complete, with Giltrap Group opening the showroom just in time to launch the new Nissan brand for New Zealand.
