Heritage Terrace Apartments + Retail

This project involved the extensive refurbishment of a heritage-listed mixed-use terrace, originally constructed circa 1920, located in the bustling heart of Crown Street, Surry Hills. Working within a high-traffic urban environment, our team managed complex access requirements, including the installation of scaffolding over the public footpath to safely facilitate works.

The project scope under a Development Application (DA) included significant heritage conservation works:

• Restoration and reinstatement of original timber windows and doors
• Structural lintel replacements
• Full roof replacement
• External façade render repairs and repainting in accordance with heritage guidelines

Internally, the building underwent a complete transformation, including:

• The remodelling of multiple two-bedroom residential apartments
• Upgrades to common areas and storage facilities
• A modern refurbishment of the existing commercial tenancy space

This comprehensive remedial project required careful planning, heritage sensitivity, and proactive stakeholder management to revitalise a historic building while preserving its character for future generations.
