Taking inspiration from the suburbs of Chicago, it was a dream for the Yellowfox team to renovate this sprawling old home on a Waiheke Island hilltop. The large, open living spaces and passageways called for dramatic contrasts of black and white which provides a stunning neutral backdrop for the client’s extensive art collection. The more intimate, private wings to the house were treated with deeper tones of colour such as muted charcoals and soft greys from the Resene range, and complimented with luxurious textiles and drapery by The Furnishing Room. The traditional-style tongue & groove kitchen is characterised by Bestwood 1/4 Cut American Oak. The exterior was also refreshed with a new dark colour palette, which compliments the brick and revives the classic beauty of this home.

“Our Company has been partnering with the Yellowfox team over the past 4-5 years and consider they add significant value to our building process. They have great systems in place to efficiently provide us with the design advice required and always hit the mark when it comes to achieving a stylish and ‘on trend’ final product whilst still recognising any budgetary requirements. Our clients particularly seem to like the ‘one stop shop’ approach and they value the time they save driving all over Auckland searching for products. We have had numerous clients over the past few years comment on how easy everything was when it came time to making decisions regarding selection of products and how much they have enjoyed the entire building process. Our team love getting this positive feedback and recognise that a fair bit of the credit can be attributed to the Yellowfox team.”
