Hosking Home & Boatshed, Bird Area

This home was architecturally designed and the brief was for a comfortable and unpretentious family home consisting of three bedrooms, three bathrooms and a traditional gable-type roof with attic space.  This design allows generous space and the home is situated to capture both the morning and afternoon sun without creating a bulky two-storey building. The open gable and dormer design sits comfortably on its corner site while the boatshed/additional garage is located on the adjoining section. Whilst this beautiful home is ‘traditional’ it takes in considerable detailing using shiplap and white exterior trim. Allen and Chris have consciously invested in new and practical services technology, ensuring that their home will be comfortable and enjoyable for decades to come. The use of Rylock thermal aluminium window and door joinery, easy access with wide door openings, noise-control for internal walls and double ceiling lining noise-control system at mid-floor structure, custom-designed kitchen with clever use of space and lighting, all the mod cons that are required for a great functional kitchen which fits the feel of the home perfectly, clever use of lighting in bathroom areas, good use of tiles and generous shower area all create comfortable bathroom spaces and the added bonus of a lift to the upper floor. In addition to all these features, there is easy access to sheltered outdoor decks and courtyards that are well lit for night entertaining around the cosy outdoor fireplace and spa pool.
