Set on a sloping, outer-suburban site with significant bush views – this project is designed for a family at a unique life-stage. Whilst the children are now young adults who have flown the family nest, it was important to the brief that the house could expand and shrink to host large family gatherings.
The muted exterior palette was selected so that the surrounding landscaping with its greens-grey hues would be the star instead. The carefully rotated and placed volumes create well-proportioned internal courtyards and alfresco areas to suit the client’s lifestyle. The house design was also carefully zoned and assessed to achieve exceptional energy efficiency.
