This simple ‘red box’ was designed to be an artist’s studio, but is also flexible enough to house visitors, with a small kitchen and separate bathroom.
We used basic materials and elements like a light varnished strandfloor floor which could be covered by a timber floor or carpet in the future once the paint brushes are retired!
The design is small and simple, but perfectly thought through in terms of position on the site, sun orientation, windows and views.
The client understood the value of using an architect to make the most of the site, while keeping the design simple and affordable. Just what Artis is all about.
