When asked to create a new dining space by taking out a wall between two smaller rooms, Biobuild found the Kauri boards behind the plasterboard, and brought it back to life. By carefully removing, cleaning, shaping, sanding, fixing and oiling the centuries old timber, a beautiful finish was achieved. Features of the Kauri’s life before felling, from grain to knots, are celebrated and revealed.
