A family home with room to growIt came time for this family to move out of the city and onto a hill-top, coastal home overlooking Pakiri river and beach. BioBuild delivered a well-insulated home that lets in the incredible views of the ocean, while protecting from overheating with natural ventilation and sensible shading.

Materials inside and outside the home were chosen to reduce impact on the environment and be in-tune with the family. Redwood weatherboards, Lawson Cypress floor joists, Douglas Fir framing, and Eucalyptus flooring are all free from industrial chemicals to last generations, and were sourced in New Zealand.

The layout of the home, with mezzanines and multi-use spaces, can adapt to changing needs, and give ample storage space outside, while keeping the home on a relatively compact footprint.
