The clients of this home contacted David Reid Homes Auckland Central in June 2020 by a young couple with an intention of building a beautiful home on a site that they had just purchased in Westmere, Auckland.

The site was flat and has fantastic views of Waitemata Harbour, but the site was relatively small and narrow, which presented us with a challenge for the design, considering the client’s request for a large, 5-bedroom home.

Externally, the sharpness of the design is one that resembles sleek and striking architecture. To further compliment this, we elected to use standing seam roofing and profile-matched interlocking metal cladding. This product is clean, low maintenance and striking, and is softened at each end with the use of dark-stained Abodo timber cladding. The base is painted brick, in crisp white colour, to further accentuate the contrast and different materials used.
