The young family of four was inspired by mid-century modern homes but wanted something completely new to fit their particular lifestyle. the house is at rest with separate spaces for differentiated activities including living, playing, cooking, dining, and piano playing. The large gabled roof over the great room feels light and airy, and is flooded with natural light through wide expanses of glass doors, a glass atrium, and high clerestory windows. The playroom which can be closed off with pocket doors opens up to the front courtyard creating an indoor-outdoor area that could be adapted over time.

“In January 2020 we moved out to renovate our Eichler home. We had raised our family there and it was a hodgepodge of various styles, we needed to redo everything from moving walls, electrical, heating, new kitchen layout, accessible master bath, etc. The Klopf architect group met with us, heard our needs and came up with a beautiful plan that brought our modern home back to life with functionality. We met weekly at the house with the contractor and the architect. The house was mostly gutted and we had lots of decisions to make as things progressed. At every point we had the info we needed to make good decisions about everything that went into the house. We love how our home turned out and it has far exceeded our expectations. The Klopf group are all lovely people and are good to work with!”
