Mangere Bridge kitchen

Website

This seriously stylish new home with a family focus hits all the right notes. Open plan, timbered and light, it is a delight to be in. The owners commissioned Peta Davy of Yellow Fox to design a compact family home using Sthāpatya Veda design principles. Materials chosen had to be natural, non-toxic products suitable to the local climatic conditions.

In the design of the kitchen, this has been interpreted with a mix of recycled timbers (benchtop made from recycled telegraph poles), stainless steel, timber veneer and paint finishes. The styling is undeniably contemporary, but the mix of nature-inspired colours, textures and finishes lends a distinctly "natural" ambience to the ensemble.

Negative detail drawer handles and uncluttered clean lines and surfaces leave the colours and finishes to do all the talking.
