A tired and small 1971 home in a great location got a radical makeover to become our own family home. Designers always experiment more on their own homes, testing ideas and materials.

With a Northern road frontage, but a South facing garden, a long open plan room now bisects the house, opening both to the front and back. A two storey void at the front draws light and sun deep into the plan, and cross flow ventilation is provided by high level electrically operated windows and ceiling fans.

Biophilic design principles are strongly followed with the natural materials used and the visual connection to the gardens outside.
