Unique Challenges and Solutions
Excavation was the most significant challenge due to the steep site. We removed the existing single garage and excavated a large amount of dirt from the back of the property. The removed soil was dropped into a large hole, specifically created for this purpose, and then loaded onto trucks for removal. Additionally, we faced the challenge of craning a digger and powered ride-on barrow up onto the bank.
We also installed a new spa at the rear of the property, using a digger, transport wheels, and manpower to move it up the steep banks. Building the rear retaining walls was a slow process, involving multiple concrete and block pours while backfilling between each pour to ensure stability.

Transforming the Property
The excavation allowed us to create a large decking area with a spa and outdoor gas fire, complemented by terraced gardens. We covered the block work with Kwila decking, adding a natural aesthetic to the space. We also completed a small extension and renovated the back of the house, adding a new kitchen, dining area, and a hidden bathroom/laundry concealed within the cabinetry.

Client Satisfaction
Our clients were extremely pleased with the transformation. The homeowner took on the landscaping and retaining wall construction himself, with our guidance and support. Frequent check-ins ensured everything was on track, and the client repeatedly expressed how much they enjoy the new spaces we created for them.
