Project Type:  Showroom and workshop

Location:  Botany, Auckland

Size:  2800m2

Client:  Mercedes Benz

The Botany dealership is an eye-catching pearl on the string of 13 Armstrong Motor Group sites across the country.

The Mercedes-Benz showroom officially opened in June and sold an eye-watering 60 cars in that first month, followed up by 35 in the first two weeks of July.

The 11,000 square meter site hosts both the Mercedes-Benz and Hyundai brands, with large showrooms, huge forecourts, 21 service bays in the workshop and plenty of parking at the rear.

Mercedes-Benz researchers chose East Auckland for the new site using a range of demographics, predicted urban growth and other information. East Tamaki is the fastest-growing area of Auckland and Botany is close to wealthy suburbs, shopping centres, and the site is on Ti Rakau Drive - a main arterial route into the city.
“They worked out the perfect location to a specific point on the map, which is just 100 metres from the site,” says Rick.
“It was almost miraculous that this large piece of land was available just where we wanted. Usually you can only get within a kilometre or so of the ideal site.”

BRANDS, BUILDING, PEOPLE
Rick says the brand, the quality of the building and the skills of the staff are hugely important to making a successful dealership.
