Pauanui Kitchen

This kitchen exemplifies a meticulous and thoughtful approach to interior design, harmoniously blending colonial architectural influences with bespoke craftsmanship. The project was conceived as a heartfelt homage to the family’s cherished beach house, embodying a respectful nod to its storied past while thoughtfully preparing for its enduring legacy. The design celebrates the diverse memories created within these walls, fostering an environment where family and friends can gather, cook, create, and enjoy shared moments of joy and celebration.  An eclectic ethos is woven throughout the space, with design elements carefully curated to reflect both history and authenticity. The central island, mounted on castors for flexible use, embodies practicality and conviviality, encouraging spontaneous gatherings. The large rattan-covered range hood honours the era of the house, while a carefully selected combination of handcrafted tiles introduces a natural, textured aesthetic that enhances the authenticity of the interior. This approach results in a kitchen that is not only functional but also rich in character, offering a warm and inviting atmosphere that honours its heritage while embracing modernity.
