Mr Morris does not have a theme. It’s not that kind of place. It’s a simpler, more honest thing than that.
Mr Morris Eatery was a memorable project to be apart of. Assisting with the lighting design and supply of all the lighting including the bespoke wooden pendants designed by Cheshire Architects. It was a team effort, right from the concept through to hand weaving the rope onto the brass rods of the custom handcrafted pendants.
The phenomenal design was completed by Cheshire Architects. Designed with no theme, the concept was to keep the space simple, more honest. It is warm, comforting and welcoming letting itself be a little rough around its carefully crafted edges.
The lighting strategy was to keep light off the circulation areas. Focusing the light only onto the tables to create a more dramatic atmosphere. This was achieved using elliptical lens optics and carefully positioned luminaires. Using a 2700K colour temperature, complimented with high colour rendering (CRI) helped accentuate the warm tones used throughout. Each luminaire is paired with a honey-comb louvre to help reduce any glare from the space, ensuring a pleasant and comforting environment for all guests.
Our partner is Australia, Nocturnal Lighting analysed drawings supplied of the handcrafted wooden shade, made by Dimension Shopfitters. No surprise to us, it all came together seamlessly resulting in a product we can all be proud off.
If you have not had the opportunity to check out Mr Morris Eatery in Britomart. We highly recommend, you will not leave disappointed.
