Ocean Beach Road

VDM Architects presents Ocean Beach Road, a project located just a short distance from Tairua's main beach. This summer holiday home is being transformed into a permanent residence with a thoughtful design that includes a rear extension to provide a new spacious living area, a hobby room, and a master bedroom with an ensuite. 

A generous north-facing deck, accessible via wide ranch sliders from the living room and a kitchen servery, enhances indoor-outdoor living. Deep eaves and battens to the north facing facade provides excellent shading from the sun.

The project also features a modernized kitchen and updated interiors, including a new bathroom, laundry and powder room. The design draws influence from Mid-Century modernist design and the Japandi interior aesthetic.

New cladding and a pergola to the west improve the street presence, while a separate double garage in a style consistent with the home is being built to address the homeowners' recreational needs.

We have recently developed a comprehensive interior design scheme, meticulously crafted with a thoughtful selection of high-quality materials and fittings. The project is now in the documentation phase and is on track for completion in 2026. Once finished, it promises to deliver a harmonious fusion of design, comfort and practicality.
