A vibrant and inviting space overlooking Oriental Bay, featuring cheerful shades of watermelon and lime, complemented by New Zealand-made soft furnishings from Cuthbert Interiors, all while preserving the charm of the clients' beautiful antiques.
The brief from the client was lime, colour and cheerful. Using shades of watermelon, lime and plenty of natural timber an inviting environment has been created overlooking Oriental Bay and the City of Wellington.
Featuring in the New Homes edition of the "Trends" magazine in September 2011, this large family home showcases the use of colour to enhance the occupiers' lives. It is an inviting home that brings a smile to your face with the use of colours are happy and playful.
Whilst the clients retained their beautiful antiques, the soft furnishings were sourced and commissioned by Cuthbert Interiors and are all New Zealand made. For example the rug, also by Cuthbert Interiors, was specifically commissioned to bring the moods of the family living area together. As there is substantial timber flooring, it is important that areas of use are defined by the use of such techniques.
