Inspired by the beautiful pool views, the Riverwood table is a strikingly designed feature in this kitchen. Coming from a Matai slab coloured from over 100 years at the bottom of a Northland river, this provided a unique challenge for our craftsmen to grain match. The dark watercoloured timber was graded with the lighter heartwood creating an intricate gradient of tones.
A furniture piece that showcases the possibilities of bespoke design, the top is rebated for a strip of Dekton while LED lighting underneath creates a stunning atmosphere at night.
The Woodsmiths worked with Marianne from Kitchens by Design and NZ Native Riverwood to source the sustainably reclaimed timber and craft a structurally durable, practical table that embodied the vision of the designer and homeowner. Finished in a two-pack lacquer, ever popular in medium wear areas, this is sure to be the centre point where many fond memories will be created for years to come!
