Our expertise in installing as well as processing natural stone was sought for this rural Waikato property. Local Hinuera Stone is showcased in a number of formats, including large honed panels as an exterior cladding and natural-face blocks for outdoor walls. The honed panels were installed using a mechanical-fixing method, while the blocks were processed to a 40mm thickness at our Tauranga premises, enabling us to glue them to the substrate using our lightweight stone cladding installation system.
The natural stone was carried through to the interior with a striking geometric design for the fireplace surround. To achieve this a template was first created to guide the overall look, size and shape of the stone. After being processed to a 40mm thickness, individual pieces of natural-face Hinuera were shaped and laid out in a pattern onto a template at our Tauranga premises to create the overall design, before being photographed, labelled and freighted to site for installation.
