This development is a central hub for Cantabrians to meet up with friends and enjoy a selection of food that varies from around the globe. The market won the Yardi Retail Property Award at the 2020 Property Council New Zealand Rider Levett Bucknall Property Industry Awards. It was described by the judges as a, “world-class inner-city retail, hospitality, food and produce market”.

Kirk Roberts worked in close collaboration with the client on several aspects of the build from design to structural and geotechnical engineering, and project management. The result is a stunning and structurally sound building that is appealing to the eye, but looking beyond that, we have created a space in the heart of Christchurch where locals and visitors flock to enjoy themselves.

The 5,000m² market boasts more than 60 retail shops, stalls – including organic food retailers – and several food outlets.
