The 1970’s Home Unit lacked creature comforts and functionality we now come to expect in a 21st century kitchen. Hungry for change, the client came with a shopping list of ideas and wishes.

Usable benchspace / Usable and accessible storage / Must have a microwave / Incorporate a dishwasher / Include a single oven / Include an induction cooktop / Eliminate and update the dysfunctional extraction system / Masculine tones.

With two windows and two doors in the confined space, relocating the fridge made way for positioning a drawer unit near to dining. The long awaited Dishdrawer conveniently is neighbouring making unloading of cutlery and crockery a breeze.

Drinking vessels, coffee and tea are stored in the HK lift-up and are within easy reach of the newly incorporated Multi-tap. Also featured in the cleaning zone are a sink station and floor-mounted rubbish system, both offering versatility within the limited space.

The left to right work-flow from sink to cooktop works optimally for the right-handed user. The single oven and induction cooktop with nearby oil pull-out ensures everything is at arms-reach when cooking. Accessible storage for small appliances is offered in the anthracite LeMans and dried ingredients can be stored in the custom-sized Spacetower.

The sophisticated Orion Grey Legrabox drawers with anthracite interiors to include Ambia-line accessories, maximise on storage organisation and elevate the user’s experience.

Combined with dark appliances, integrated microwave and profiled limestone cabinetry, the desired look of a contemporary and masculine aesthetic fuel the appetite. As quoted “Now I get to enjoy a fantastic kitchen”.
