Like its namesake, the Tiu House is big energy in a small package. Envisioned as stage 1 of a family home in Lake Hāwea, New Zealand the Tiu House sits proudly defiant of its minor dwelling billing. A rich tapestry of materials, from SIP panels to garbage on the walls, has been expertly collated to show what can be done in the energy and carbon-conscious field of high-performing homes.

Rated at Homestar 6 (design) and at a highly functional but modest 36m2 this home is a glimpse into the future of housing. And the future is looking bright.
