St Johns Church and Community Hall

St John's Presbyterian Church was built in 1873 and is the oldest stone church in the Queenstown Lakes District. Designed by Frederick Burwell the church stands on a prominent site at the entry to Arrowtown.
Over a four year period Origin Consultants Limited ( formerly Jackie Gillies & Associates ) prepared a conservation plan for St John's and drew up plans for a new Community Hall at the rear of the church. Origin oversaw the maintenance and restoration works while the community hall was being constructed.
