Structural - YSL, Farmers Albany

The brief to EDC’s structural team called for an attractive, free-standing YSL kiosk representative of such an internationally respected brand. With Farmers retail space at a premium, signage (and with it load) needed to be overhead, accommodating both foot traffic and visible brand presence. Bracing for seismic activity, wind and people impact was key but needed to be inconspicuous. EDC’s response was an interlinked diagonal and shear connection bracing structure, hidden within the architectural profile. EDC worked collaboratively with the client, providing a cost effective, robust and fit for purpose solution that was aesthetically pleasing whilst providing peace of mind for public safety.
