A Woodland-Inspired Coastal Retreat
Just steps from the shoreline, our client envisioned a garden that felt immersive and natural — a soft, woodland-like escape nestled within a coastal setting.
We responded with a design that embraces gentle, organic movement. A series of sweeping curves draws you through the space, revealing layers of texture and inviting discovery at every turn. The journey begins at the front entrance, winding toward a secluded, paved nook ideal for morning coffee, then continues onto a raised oval lawn — perfect for children’s play, summer entertaining, or soaking in the sun.
The planting palette blends coastal resilience with seasonal beauty. A delicate mix of gaura, salvia, verbena, and miniature toetoe offers waves of colour, softness, and movement throughout the year — grounding the space in both place and mood.
This garden balances naturalistic charm with everyday function, creating a retreat that feels timeless, tranquil, and deeply connected to its environment.
Let me know if you’d like to include design materials used (e.g. pavers, edging, seating), or add a client quote to give the piece more personality and validation. I can also help format this for multiple project showcases.
