Working with a client from overseas in a different time zone along with an Architect located elsewhere in the country was going to run the risk of unique challenges. We were able to overcome these with good communication as we all shared the same vision of creating a family home. The family home nestles unobtrusively into its park like surroundings by using lots of natural building materials along with copper spouting and downpipes. The house is on 2 levels using an engineered designed stepped block foundation to follow the contour of the site. The easy flow of the living and bedroom wings ensures the optimal family lifestyle for our clients. The use of skillion roof framing was used to achieve an open raking ceiling in the living and kitchen area. Bespoke design quality exists throughout the home from the expansive use of natural stone, handmade tiles to the clever design of kitchen and bathroom cabinetry. Floor coverings were made up of carpet and engineered oak timber flooring with all trim being American White Oak. Clever design, beautiful materials and first class workmanship has resulted in a home built to perfection. This is the home our clients had envisioned for their future here in New Zealand.

The home was entered into the 2021 Waikato House of the Year Awards in the over $2million dollar category. The Home won Gold and the Category. Along with winning Gold and the Category the home won the Bathroom Lifestyle Award. In August it was announced that the house had been awarded Gold Reserve Status and now competes in the National House of the Year Competition.
