Vivian Construction is proud to have completed the Tāneatua Police Station for NZ Police in 2023. This project was a true community collaboration, with input from local leaders and Ngāi Tūhoe partners. 

The station has been purpose-built to ensure a thriving environment, with its open plan design encouraging engagement between the police and the public. Its unique features include repurposed flooring from a former cheese factory, as well as all external signs in te reo Māori - making it the first of its kind in New Zealand. The station has also been built with sustainability in mind, powered by solar energy for maximum efficiency. 

The station’s front is a true symbol of unity: showcasing art representing Tāneatua’s past, present and future. As Deputy Commissioner Wally Haumaha said on its opening day: "Today marks the start of a safety and inclusion-focused environment, created through the collaboration of the local community and NZ Police”. With Vivian Construction’s help, the station has become a place of rebirth, reflecting Tāneatua’s commitment to unity and teamwork.
