Situated in the tranquil suburb of Ivanhoe East, The Boulevard House underwent a remarkable renovation and extension project led by Michael Ong Design Office. With a focus on catering to the growing needs of the client's family and enhancing the connection with the beautiful surroundings, the project aimed to reimagine the existing north-facing facade and extend it to capture views over the Yarra. Incorporating high windows with integrated louvres, the design flooded the house with ample natural light while maintaining privacy and control over the interior environment.

In selecting sun shading solutions, Michael Ong Design Office opted for Warema's E80 AF external venetian blinds from Shade Factor. These blinds, with their sleek design and versatile functionality, were carefully chosen to offer effective passive and active solar protection for the north and west-facing windows. Featuring 80mm flat slats and a motorised operation, the blinds provide a wide range of shading options, allowing the house to regulate light and temperature throughout the seasons. The specified Anthracite Metallic finish of the blinds harmoniously complements the architectural form and zinc cladding of the residence, achieving a visual and tactile harmony that enhances the overall aesthetic appeal of The Boulevard House.
