Viking Dec-K-ing partners with Peninsula Roofing to provide a state-of-the-art waterproof flooring solution for the new clubhouse of Trust Waikato Hot Water Beach Lifeguard Service, enhancing safety and functionality for this vital community service.

Trust Waikato Hot Water Beach Lifeguard Service Inc are an invaluable community service here on the Coromandel Peninsula. Many tourists and locals owe their lives to this hard working bunch of life-guards who freely give of their time to keep the fabulous Hot Water Beach safe.

Up until now they have operated from the most basic of facilities. Finally all their dreams have come true and they have a brand spanking new, state of the art clubhouse to work from.

Peninsula Roofing Ltd approached Viking Roofspecs with a proposal to partner up and provide the interior waterproof flooring for the new clubhouse. They agreed to supply the product Free of Charge! Peninsula Roofing's provided the labour Free of Charge too.

Despite Dec-k-ing being installed mostly in residential situations, it is increasingly being specified for multi-level apartment complexes; retirement and nursing villages and institutional facilities such as schools, requiring underfoot grip in areas such as ramps and walkways.

Viking Dec-K-ing is an all-in-one hard-wearing, aesthetic waterproofing vinyl sheet membrane, providing the ultimate underfoot finish for a decking solution.

Originally designed in the 1980s for the marine industry (boat decks), it's now deemed an attractive option for the construction sector due to it's robust nature.

Available in seven attractive earthy patterns, Viking Dec-K-ing is an ideal solution for coastal conditions (as the salt air does not affect the membrane). Viking Dec-K-ing can be installed over treated flooring grade plywood (minimum 17mm thick), concrete and fibre cement.

“I’ve worked with Richard since he moved to the Coromandel 14 years ago. They’re reliable, the scaffolding is up when they say it’ll be up and if there’s any possible delay, which very rarely happens, they call us straight away to let us know. All the guys in the team are great too, their quotes are very competitive and they’re a brilliant team.”
