About the Project

The design draws from Moroccan architecture with a continuous water feature at the entrance, sun-bleached spaces reminiscent of Santorini’s coastal charm, and bold street art channeling the creative energy of Los Angeles.

Conway & Wise faced an ambitious challenge: create a cohesive home inspired by their clients’ travels to vastly different destinations around the world. The design draws from Moroccan architecture with a continuous water feature at the entrance, sun-bleached spaces reminiscent of Santorini’s coastal charm, and bold street art channelling the creative energy of Los Angeles.

Rather than feeling disjointed, the home reads as a curated journey where each space tells its own story while remaining connected through refined materials and a consistent design language. The overall atmosphere is anchored by the soothing, textural neutrality inspired by the Greek Islands – soft, sun-washed tones that create calm and understated elegance.

Stone Applications

Crema Vialle Limestone creates seamless transitions between indoor and outdoor living throughout key areas:

Indoor: Kitchen, Butler’s Pantry, Master Ensuite
Outdoor: Entry, Balconies, Pool surrounds

The stone’s creamy colourway perfectly complements the overall sand-toned palette, grounding the entire space with subtle warmth. Its natural elegance was essential for achieving the seamless indoor-outdoor flow that defines this home, helping to blur the lines between inside and out.

Why Crema Vialle Limestone

Beyond its visual appeal, this limestone brings a tactile richness to the home. There’s nothing quite like the feel of natural stone underfoot – it creates an immediate sense of luxury without feeling cold or impersonal. Instead, it’s warm and inviting, providing a grounding tactile experience that adds to the home’s overall comfort.

The stone has proven exceptionally durable in this coastal Vaucluse environment. Despite initial concerns about using such a light-coloured stone outdoors, it has withstood heavy testing through multiple large gatherings including Christmas and New Year’s Eve parties and an engagement party. The material’s resilience makes it ideal for a busy family home that regularly entertains.

Conway & Wise specifically chose natural stone for its timeless qualities – a material that brings both authentic beauty and long-lasting durability when selected and installed thoughtfully.

Living the Space

The design has transformed the family’s lifestyle, offering a beautiful balance between connection and retreat. The four-metre curved stone island bench has become the true heart of the home, where almost every meal is shared and family life naturally gathers.

Shared zones bring the family together, while separate wings provide privacy when needed. The connection between the pool, infrared sauna, and sunken fire pit has given the family year-round enjoyment.
