This was the artist Bloomfield's home - famous for his renderings of the popular Pink and White terraces. The villa is very interesting as unusually it put its back to the street and opened up to the northern views and large yard.
This presented an almost georgian face to the street which appeared quite hard and excluding. We have softened this by adding a recessed upper storey wing and verandah to match the existing, which wraps up and over the new garage. Ultra modern bathrooms combine timber and basalt of traditional villas, with custom made acrylic vanities, contemporary lighting and tapware. A basement floor is added and landscaping and pool with water feature that makes a subtle reference to the artist's historical importance.
