The EMA HOUSE is a high-spec architecturally designed holiday home. The brief was to create a modern minimalist design that celebrates the scale of the traditional NZ bach whilst using beautifully crafted materials. The design is a small yet beautifully detailed retreat. The detailing is that of a bespoke architecturally designed home, made affordable by scale.

Professional
Evelyn McNamara Architecture Ltd is an Auckland based residential architectural practise formed in May 2009 by Evelyn McNamara.
The practice has a strong focus on design that adheres to clean, simple, modern lines whilst engaging the specific requirements of both the site and the client.
We believe that both form and materials need to be designed to adhere to the specific characteristics of a site, whilst also meeting all elements of the clients brief – both in terms of program and budget. We believe modern living in New Zealand should engage with the surrounding environment in well-designed homes with an environmentally friendly focus.
We focus largely on high end residential new build projects.
Evelyn is a Registered Architect under the NZRAB (first registered in 2008) and is an Architect and Practice member of the NZIA. In 2016 Evelyn was appointed to the NZ Registered Architects Board assessors panel.
