Lahood Window Furnishings

1. Precision and Care for a Flawless Finish

“Installing window furnishings might seem straightforward, but precision is everything,” Dave says. “Every window is different, and even a small mistake in measurement or alignment can affect how the blinds or curtains look and function.”

Whether it’s ensuring that curtains hang perfectly without dragging or that blinds are aligned with the window frame, accuracy is crucial. Lahood’s design consultants in conjunction with the installation team are trained to measure each window carefully, taking into account any unique features, such as uneven walls or irregular window shapes. The installation team also ensures that all essential safety features, like cord tensioners, are securely in place—an important step, especially in homes with children and pets.

The experience of a recent customer Michelle, underlines the importance of using professional installers:

“David, the installer was fantastic. We have a Villa so our walls were a bit out of line. David came up with a solution on how to best hang the rail so curtains and rail appear straight. He really cared and the end result is so good I can’t even tell! “ Michelle, Auckland

2. Guaranteed Peace of Mind after Installation

One of the major advantages of using Lahood’s in-house team is the peace of mind that comes with knowing the job is guaranteed to be done right. “We stand behind our work 100%,” Dave emphasises.

At Lahood, our goal is your complete satisfaction with the finished job. That means delivering exactly what we promise in our proposal to bring your vision to life. In the rare case that any aspect of the installation doesn’t meet the agreed specifications, we provide an unconditional guarantee to fix it- at no extra cost to you.

‘While it’s not something that happens often, customers are always pleasantly surprised by how quickly we return to resolve any issues,’ says Dave,

With our focus on quality materials and skilled personnel throughout manufacturing and installation, we confidently provide a 2-year guarantee on all workmanship giving you additional peace of mind.

3. Making Complex Automation Simple and Convenient

"One of the biggest changes we’ve seen in recent years is the demand for motorised blinds and curtains," Dave explains. "Customers want more convenience, and automation offers that in spades. But with that comes more complexity during installation."

The trend towards smart homes has led to an increased demand for window coverings that can be controlled via remote systems or integrated into home automation systems like Google Home or Amazon Alexa. At Lahood, Dave’s team is constantly staying up-to-date with the latest smart technologies and motorisation programmes to ensure they’re installing products that not only work smoothly but are also set up to help customers get the most out of them.

“We spend time understanding the different programming options available,” Dave says. “It’s important for us to be able to brief customers properly so they can optimise the performance of their blinds and curtains. Whether it’s setting up automated timers or syncing the shades with voice-activated systems, we make sure everything is fine-tuned to the customer’s needs."

The move toward automation also means more intricate wiring, hidden motors, and ensuring that everything functions seamlessly behind the scenes. This is where the experience of a professional installation team like Lahood’s really makes a difference. "We make sure everything’s installed perfectly, so customers can enjoy the convenience without worrying about any technical issues," Dave adds.

4. Protecting Your Investment

“Customers invest in high-quality products, and they deserve to have those products installed properly,” Dave explains. “Professional installation ensures that your window treatments last longer and work as they’re meant to.”

Incorrect installation can cause unnecessary wear and tear on window treatments. Blinds that aren’t aligned properly can become difficult to operate, while curtains that aren’t hung with the right length may become damaged over time. Using our in-house team, we make sure everything functions smoothly, protecting the longevity of the product.

5. Unrivalled Experience for Custom Solutions

No two homes are the same, and every space presents its own challenges. Dave notes that many homes have unusual window shapes or tricky layouts that require custom solutions. “We often encounter complex situations such as expansive floor-to-ceiling windows, running around corners that need a specialised approach. Our team knows how to tailor the installation process to fit the specific needs of each space.”

This experience is where Lahood’s in-house team is unrivalled. With over 80 years of combined expertise between Dave Foley and his installation team members, CJ Munn and Nick Lahood, there’s little they don’t know about achieving the perfect window furnishing installation. “At Lahood, we don’t believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. Instead, our design and installation teams take the time to understand your home’s layout, as well as your functional and design preferences, ensuring your window treatments are installed flawlessly to suit your unique space." says Dave.

6. Efficient and Stress-Free Experience

“Most people don’t realise how much time and effort a proper installation takes,” Dave says. “But that’s our job - to make it as smooth and efficient as possible so that customers don’t have to worry about a thing.”

Lahood offers a seamless, end-to-end service that covers everything from your initial design consultation to delivering and expertly installing your window furnishings. If you’re moving into a new build or apartment for example, our design and installation teams will collaborate closely with architects, builders, or property managers - from the planning stage right through to final installation. We even arrange early site access to install your window coverings before you move in.

Since our installation team is in-house, there’s no need to deal with third-party contractors or worry about miscommunication between designers, suppliers and installers. Our installation experts work hand-in-hand with Lahood’s design consultants to ensure your vision comes to life just the way you imagined.

7. Bringing Your Vision to Life

At the end of the day, Dave says the most rewarding part of his job is seeing the customer’s vision come to life. “It’s really satisfying to step back after an installation and see how everything comes together. The customers are always thrilled, and that’s what makes it all worthwhile.”

When you choose Lahood’s in-house installation team, you’re not just getting a technical service—you’re getting the final piece of the puzzle in bringing your home décor vision to life.
