Bamboo X-treme Cladding

Beautiful, enduring, natural – bamboo cladding more than delivers on all these categories

Designed with New Zealand's changeable climate in mind, Bamboo X-treme Cladding is crafted from high-density planks with overlapping profiles.

Comprised of strand-woven bamboo and heat-treated for strength, this cladding system boasts the highest durability class possible, making it well-suited for the harsh New Zealand sun and environment.

Flat-out appealing

Bamboo X-treme Cladding offers the warm, rich aesthetic of timber and with its superior resistance to moisture, fungi, and insects it will look as good as when it was installed for decades to come.

Plus, with its strong stability, Bamboo X-treme Cladding can withstand temperature changes with hardly any shrinking or swelling – due to this stability, the cladding will stay flat and in place, unlike some other natural materials, for a pristine aesthetic down the years.

Developed by Palmer & Cook, this medium-density apartment project combines elegant architectural design, smart spatial planning, and a deep commitment to environmental responsibility. Bamboo X-treme Cladding plays a key part in its make-up.

Seamless and easy to install with locked in waterproofing

The bamboo cladding system is fixed to cavity battens (with the clips/screws provided), over a waterproof rigid or flexible air barrier membrane (RAB/FAB) – for locked in peace of mind.

Bamboo X-treme Cladding requires less upkeep than many hardwoods – it can be oiled for a rich, maintained look or left to naturally silver with a lovely bamboo grain, without compromising performance.

No project too big or small

Ideal for your new home or renovation project, Bamboo X-treme Cladding is also fast growing in popularity for larger constructions – such as this Lower Hutt medium density housing project.

Bamboo X-treme Decking

Let's face it, New Zealanders love the outdoor life which means choosing decking that stands the test of our variable climate, rain and baking sunshine included.

Durable in the extreme

Bamboo X-treme Decking offers an extremely strong, high-density bamboo decking solution.

Individual planks are made from compressed strand-woven bamboo – built to handle anything our elements throw at it.

This decking solution is exceptionally hard, dense and stable, and has been tested for durability (class 1 of EN350 standard – the best possible class available), ensuring maximum performance.

Bamboo X-treme decking is a truly ecological and durable alternative to increasingly scarce tropical hardwood and timber decking.

Ease of installation and low upkeep

Bamboo X-treme Decking can be quickly installed using the supplied powder-coated stainless steel clip and screw fixings supplied.

The result is seamless as this 'invisible' fixing system means no nails or screws are visible.

Planet friendly – strong as tropical hardwood but without the forest devastation

Bamboo X-treme Decking is a truly ecological and durable alternative for increasingly scarce tropical hardwood decking.

A patented process enhances Bamboo X-treme's hardness, stability, fire safety, and durability beyond top tropical hardwoods.

Plantation bamboo X-treme decking is an extremely strong, solid, high density bamboo decking plank made from compressed strand-woven bamboo.
