From Roof to Below Ground – One Supplier, One Integrated Approach

The building envelope is the first line of defence against the elements, and its performance is critical for durability, energy efficiency, and compliance.

In New Zealand’s varied climate, meeting H1 Energy Efficiency regulations is now a key design priority.

At Equus, we provide complete building envelope solutions, including waterproofing systems and insulation, ensuring compatibility, streamlined specification, and peace of mind from design through to completion.

Why Choose a Single Source for the Building Envelope?

Managing multiple suppliers for waterproofing and insulation can lead to coordination challenges, compatibility issues, and unnecessary risk. By partnering with Equus, you gain:

> Reduced Coordination – One point of contact simplifies project management.

> Newer Compatibility Issues – Systems designed to work together across all junctions.

> Simplified Specification – Easier detailing for architects and specifiers.

> Cost Savings – Efficiency across all waterproofing and insulation elements.

> Technical Support from Design to Completion – Our team works alongside the project every step of the way.

This integrated approach means a smoother path to compliance. For architects and specifiers, it’s about confidence in design. For contractors and developers, it’s about efficiency and cost control.

Comprehensive Solutions from Equus

Our product portfolio covers every aspect of the building envelope, including:

Roofing Membranes
High-performance bituminous, TPO and liquid-applied membranes designed for durability, UV resistance, and long-term weatherproofing. Compatible with insulation and green roof assemblies, suitable for commercial and residential projects.

Deck and Balcony Waterproofing
Systems engineered for pedestrian traffic areas, offering slip resistance and seamless integration with exterior finishes. Ideal for apartments, hospitality, and mixed-use developments.

Wall Wraps
Our latest Soprema inclusion, Equus Soprema Sopraseal Stick VP, provides superior air and moisture control. Its self-adhered design simplifies installation and enhances airtightness for energy efficiency.

Insulation
We offer PIR and mineral wool warm roof solutions, as well as mineral wool insulation for walls, delivering excellent thermal efficiency. These systems help meet H1 Energy Efficiency regulations, improve building performance, and reduce operational costs. By integrating insulation with waterproofing, we ensure continuity of thermal protection without compromising moisture control.

Below-Ground Waterproofing & Insulation
Robust membranes and insulation solutions designed to resist hydrostatic pressure and improve thermal performance, helping achieve H1 compliance and reducing heat loss at foundation level.

Flooring Systems
Durable coatings and membranes for interior and exterior spaces, offering abrasion and chemical resistance with long life service.

Carpark Waterproofing & Coatings
Heavy-duty systems designed for vehicular-traffic areas, providing mechanical and chemical resistance and long-term durability in commercial carparks and podiums.

Exterior Coatings
Protective and decorative finishes for façades, ensuring weatherability, colour retention, and resistance to environmental stress — ideal for maintaining façade performance and aesthetics.

By offering all these systems under one roof, we eliminate guesswork and ensure that each project is getting the right solution.

The Equus Advantage

Cost-Effective Solutions
Our systems are designed to work together, reducing installation time and minimising costly detailing errors. By consolidating suppliers, you avoid duplication and achieve better value across roofing, waterproofing, and coatings. We help optimise specifications to match performance requirements with budget, avoiding over-specification while maintaining NZBC compliance.

Technical Expertise from Design to Completion
We provide full specification support, detail reviews, and compliance documentation to simplify the design process. During construction, our team offers on-site guidance and quality assurance to ensure correct installation and long-term performance. This end-to-end support reduces rework and ensures detailing is executed as designed.

Integrated System Compatibility
Every Equus product is selected and tested for compatibility with other systems in the building envelope. This eliminates the risk of membrane incompatibility at junctions and transitions ensuring continuity of performance across roofs, façades, decks, and below-ground elements.

Compliance & Quality Assurance
Our solutions align with New Zealand Building Code requirements and are supported with recognised compliance documentation (CodeMark, BRANZ) and industry appraisals where applicable. This provides confidence to specifiers and developers that systems are proven and appropriate for local conditions and regulatory expectations.
