It's a cost-of-living crisis, But I want to renovate!

In today’s challenging economic climate, renovating your home in Victoria can be a smart strategy for maximizing comfort, long-term value, and wealth retention, especially as housing reforms and living costs reshape the state’s property landscape.

Here are our top three compelling reasons to consider a renovation with APC Build:

Increased Home Value and Market Competitiveness:

Renovating is a solid investment that can increase your home's market value, making it competitive in Victoria's booming real estate sector. Victoria led the country with 60,606 new home completions over the past year, reflecting a strong demand for quality homes. By upgrading, homeowners position themselves to benefit from this growth and achieve higher resale values, especially with demand rising for energy-efficient, modern homes that meet new standards

Cost-Effective Living in a High-Cost Economy:

With inflation and rising living costs impacting Victorians, enhancing the energy efficiency of homes is increasingly beneficial. Renovations focused on energy efficiency, such as switching to electric appliances and updating insulation, can save on long-term utility costs. Victoria’s housing economy is adjusting to policies like the seven-star energy efficiency standards and gas substitution for new homes, emphasizing that energy-efficient updates can help reduce monthly expenses while meeting future standards

Customization and Lifestyle Benefits:

Renovating allows homeowners to adapt their space to their lifestyle, adding comfort and personal value that renting or relocating may not provide. From adding a home office to modernizing outdoor spaces, tailored upgrades can create a sanctuary that meets your specific needs—something increasingly appealing with limited housing stock in high-demand areas. The Victorian government is also facilitating affordable housing options and streamlined building pathways, underscoring the importance of making the most out of one’s current property to achieve long-term satisfaction and avoid future market uncertainties.

By renovating strategically, homeowners in Victoria can not only enhance their living standards but also turn their homes into assets that support financial resilience and adaptability in a dynamic housing market.
