Leading nationwide balustrade provider, Provista Balustrade Systems, has installed both Frameless Glass Channel and Euro Fin balustrades to the decks and landings of a new 20-apartment development in Lower Hutt, Wellington.

Kākāriki, at 200 Knights Road, is a stylish and contemporary structure developed to provide a new standard for sustainable living in the Wellington region. The latest offering, from local and respected developers Palmer & Cook, combines contemporary living with environmentally friendly materials. The result is one of the most unique developments to the area in recent times. The commitment to sustainability is evident throughout Kākāriki. The building utilises eco-friendly materials(including sustainable bamboo) and energy-efficient systems, such as solar panels, to minimise environmental impact and enhance residents' quality of life.

The Provista Euro Fin balustrades provide a stylish vertical feature to both external decks and internal stairways while the Provista Vista Frameless Channel balustrades provide an open and clean look to the internal landing areas on each floor. All aluminium components of the balustrades are coated in a Protexture Black Flat powder coat finish, providing a very hard-wearing mark and scuff resistant textured surface to the aluminium. The Black colour complements the lighter and natural shades of the cladding and other building finishes.

Curtis White, Commercial Manager at Palmer and Cook confirms “our existing relationship with Provista from a previous project gave us the confidence that they were the correct supplier for Kākāriki. They were able to deliver the specified system for us on time and under budget which is always appreciated! We enjoy working with Provista as they demonstrate flexibility, attention to detail and have always come through for us in situations where time is of the essence."

The design for Kākāriki was completed by local Lower Hutt-based Architectural Design studio, Moore Design, who had also previously worked with Provista on other building projects and knew which Provista solutions could best meet the design brief and vision of Palmer and Cook for this development.

The Provista Euro Fin and Frameless Channel solutions are very adaptable to different building types, looking great on modern or classical residential or commercial structures and, in this case, have provided safe and attractive balustrades that complement the design and look of the apartment complex.

Provista Balustrade Systems solutions are compliant with all NZ regulations and suited to A, B, E and C3 residential and commercial applications.
