Founded with a vision to lift the standard of New Zealand homes, STÄRKE has established itself as a leading advocate for higher performing, more sustainable building systems. The company’s development of the Ambiance uPVC window and door range, in partnership with aluplast, represents a major step forward for the country’s residential and commercial construction sectors.

A Partnership Built on Shared Values

STÄRKE’s collaboration with aluplast—one of Europe’s most respected innovators in uPVC window systems—was born from a shared commitment to technical excellence and long-term performance. “From the outset, we recognised aluplast’s reputation for quality and their ability to adapt to local requirements,” says Simmons. “They bring decades of German engineering experience, while we bring an in-depth understanding of New Zealand’s unique environment and regulatory landscape. It’s a perfect fit.”

Ahead of the Code

The introduction of the H1 Energy Efficiency standards has been a defining moment for the industry, pushing designers and builders to adopt higher-performing materials. “Rather than trying to make aluminium do what it was never meant to do, we offer a system that already meets and exceeds the new requirements,” Simmons explains. “Ambiance naturally delivers the thermal efficiency, airtightness, and comfort the new code was designed to encourage.”

Building Confidence Through Proof

STÄRKE knows that credibility in the building sector must be earned, not claimed. That’s why every Ambiance system is backed by extensive testing, certification, and international performance data — alongside local training and support. “We lead with evidence, not hype,” says Simmons.

“Architects, builders, and installers who try Ambiance quickly realise how easy it is to specify, fabricate, and install — and how happy their clients are with the result.”

Designed for Modern Living

At the heart of Ambiance is a simple goal: to create warmer, quieter, and healthier homes. The uPVC system’s multi-chamber construction provides exceptional thermal insulation, while its precision seals eliminate draughts and reduce outside noise. “The difference is immediate,” notes Simmons. “Lower heating and cooling bills, less condensation, and a noticeably quieter indoor environment — you can literally feel the comfort.”

Beyond New Builds

Ambiance isn’t limited to new construction. The system is equally suited to the retrofit market, offering homeowners a straightforward way to transform cold, draughty houses into efficient, comfortable homes. “Retrofit is one of the biggest opportunities in the market for our business right now,” says Simmons. “Replacing tired aluminium windows with Ambiance delivers an instant uplift in comfort and performance. It’s one of the smartest and cost-effective home improvements you can make.”

Looking Ahead

STÄRKE sees the future of New Zealand’s window industry shifting decisively toward uPVC. As energy prices rise and sustainability expectations grow, performance is no longer optional — it’s essential. “The next decade will be about creating better, healthier living environments, more than just a building,” Simmons concludes. “With aluplast, we’re leading that shift — introducing innovation around recyclability, smart-home integration, and even greater energy savings.”

Built on Trust, Strengthened by Innovation

In reflecting on their partnership, STÄRKE and aluplast share a common outlook: progress is achieved through collaboration, not competition. “aluplast brings world-class engineering,” says Simmons. “We bring deep local insight. Together, we’ve proven that uPVC isn’t just viable in New Zealand — it’s the future of comfortable, sustainable homes.”
