Te Mānia

Te Mānia by Stevens Lawson Architects is a sculptural, steel-clad home set against the dramatic backdrop of Te Mata Peak and the Tukituki River in Hawke’s Bay. Designed for a client unafraid of convention, the home is composed of two contrasting forms: the bold and expressive Te Mānia room, and a quieter, more introspective sleeping house. Raw, earthy materials—weathering steel, waxed raw steel, slate and spotted gum—anchor the living spaces, while oversized, custom Vitrocsa sliding doors dissolve the boundary between architecture and nature. A true collaboration between architecture and lands
