Pools come in many shapes and sizes, and every property has its own unique challenges. So who is the best installer to use, and what skills should they have?
Pools, by definition, are a luxury item, and if you’re looking at getting one installed alongside your new build or you’re adding one to an existing dwelling, you’ll want to ensure that it’s of the highest quality and the installer has the highest ability.
There are so many pool brands to choose from, some that have their own installation team, and others who outsource to a building contractor – so who is best to use for your pool installation?
In the Queenstown Lakes District and the Central Otago area, Erskine Construction Ltd supply and install Bermuda insulated, inground, fiberglass swimming pools.
Director Andy Erskine says, “Having the experience as a reputable local builder of architectural homes, means we are very well equipped to ensure your installation exceeds your expectations. During the planning stages we will discuss any potential challenges such as, restricted access to the site, complicated earthworks and any retaining or stabilisation works that may be required.”
Erskine's ability to quickly install pools makes it a good option for those wanting a pool in time for Christmas.
Erskine Construction Ltd has carried out high-end residential projects in the area since 2004 and can take care of any pool project from concept to completion including project management.
Andy says, “Teaming up with high quality New Zealand owned swimming pool manufacturer Bermuda Pools gives us a sense of pride knowing that the pools are made locally in Christchurch. I believed in the product from day one, and love that it’s New Zealand made.”Andy chose Bermuda pools to work with due to the high quality and durability of their pool design and structure. Being able to offer a fully insulated inground fiberglass pool, contributes to an extended swimming season, efficiency in heating, and the smooth uninterrupted walls with no unnecessary projections all make Bermuda Pools an ideal choice.
“Swimming pool installations can be challenging in the Queenstown Lakes District and Central Otago area due to the ground conditions as well as the cooler winters. Therefore, it’s essential to select the right installer.”

Andy has these tips on selecting a swimming pool installer:
Local knowledge is essential as each area has its own set of environmental challenges when it comes to earthworks and climate.
Using an installer who can show you their work and introduce you to their previous clients will give you peace of mind that this is an installer who is proud of their workmanship.
Using an installer who has the backing of a reputable long-standing New Zealand company will provide peace of mind that your project will run smoothly from start to completion and is in the best possible hands.
Often it's easier to engage a contractor who is also dealing with the building of the pool house or main dwelling.
