The EQUUS SOPREMA SOPRATHERM warm roof system is a light-weight, thermal roofing system consisting of the SOPRASUN PLUS two-layer waterproofing membrane system torch-applied over thermal insulation board and a vapour barrier. A warm roof system guarantees a continuous and efficient thermal resistance (R-value) as per the New Zealand Building Code and is designed for use on exposed flat roofs. The system is designed to meet the requirements and environmental challenges of the New Zealand climate, while still providing an economical waterproofing solution.

SOPRATHERM roofing offers a UV resistant, modified bitumen membrane (APP) finished with coloured slates, providing the building owner with protection against the demanding local weather conditions, and an attractive grey finish. The modified bitumen membrane also retains a high softening point, which allows for a more forgiving membrane during installation in hot conditions.

With a standard base sheet and cap sheet suitable for the NZ climate, SOPRATHERM can be used on plywood, concrete and metal substrates to form an efficient warm roof system in any area across the country.

Equus Industries Limited is a private limited liability Company (#120201) incorporated in Blenheim New Zealand in 1982.

The company commenced business, immediately after formation, as a manufacturer of specialist coating systems for commercial buildings. This remains the main thrust of the operation to this day, with additional high quality complementary products introduced extending the range to encompass a full range of coating and waterproofing materials for all types of construction.

In addition to supplying the New Zealand market, Equus started exporting specialist lines from late 1983 to Australia, the South Pacific and South East Asia. More recently developing strong links with distributors in both Australia and South East Asia.
