This renovation design aimed to create a unique aesthetic that harmonised with the existing dwelling. Capturing the essence of Mid-century Modern design, it celebrates curves, walnut wood tones, sleek lines, and geometric shapes with pops of colour for a calming environment.

Lighting plays a crucial role in emphasising the walnut tones and creating a serene ambiance. A David Trubridge chandelier anchors the dining room, casting a calming glow over the living area. This centrepiece enhances the deep tones of the wooden floors, built-in joinery, and furnishings, creating a cohesive and inviting atmosphere.

The owner's artwork is featured throughout the room, celebrated by softly lit overhead lighting that adds to the overall ambiance. This thoughtful placement ensures each piece is highlighted, contributing to the space's aesthetic and homely appeal.

Aligned with the Mid-century Modern character of the home, glass fluted interior doors soften thresholds between spaces, allowing gentle light to flow between the kitchen, laundry, and living areas. These doors maintain the design's elegance and enhance the light and airy feel of the home.

A slide-away wall connects the internal living environment with stunning southeast views, seamlessly opening up the living space to the exterior when weather permits. This design melds historical inspiration with modern functionality, creating a serene and visually captivating living environment.
