The clients required a design which had a focus on biodiversity and planting both native and deciduous trees and shrubs to encourage birds and bees back into the site. A high-quality lawn in front of living area and back yard was important, and overall aim to match function with pleasing aesthetics so the client could enjoy looking at the garden from the house. A large, raised vegetable garden with edible species, Feijoas, blueberries, raised garden beds for vegetables & herbs. A citrus grove was created with lemon, lime, and orange trees. The planting was to ensure some privacy but maintaining views to neighbouring wetlands & pastures. The intent was to use simple clean lines and modern touches to achieve the overall aim of a functional design which is aesthetically pleasing. The result it is a functional yet uncluttered area for the family to use. Attention to finishing and detail throughout the construction was what brought this simple modern design to life. It was important to have sufficient drainage to ensure that the water from the underground springs does not impact the elements or plants onsite. Mounding and level changes along with planting hardy natives created a buffer zone against the strong westerly wind.

At our yard we have built a showroom where our designers can guide you in what materials would best fit your project, e.g. paving, decking, lighting etc. You can also provide an existing plan to quote your project from and then we will guide you through the landscaping works from start to finish. Luijten Landscaping has a nursery that enables us to provide a large selection of the highest quality plants. If the nursery cannot provide the variety or quantity of plants for your project we will happily source them from one of our nationwide suppliers.
