Cardrona Eco Villas

In the heart of one of New Zealand’s harshest climates, the Cardrona Alpine Eco Villas were created to prove that high-performance, sustainable homes can also be affordable and beautiful. Featuring two 3-bedroom homes and one 4-bedroom home, each space was designed to accommodate either full-time living or short-term alpine escapes. Inspired by FLiP Homes’ adaptable "Nest" range, each villa was tailored with a unique mix of Abodo finishes - while still maintaining harmony with the rugged natural surroundings. When it came to flooring, Quantum’s Amorim WISE Cork was selected for its strong sustainability credentials, tactile comfort and contemporary finish - supporting the project’s Homestar 7 rating. The natural cork board format offered the perfect balance of visual interest and warmth underfoot, with two colourways - Nightshade and Fashionable Cement - chosen to complement the distinct aesthetic of each villa. The result is a comfortable, cohesive interior that aligns beautifully with the eco-conscious values of the project. As the designer shared, “The cork exceeded expectations in both feel and appearance.”
